ASI sea ice concentrations

These sea ice concentration data are retrieved with the ARTIST Sea Ice (ASI) algorithm (Spreen et al., 2008) which is applied to microwave radiometer data of the sensors AMSR-E (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS) on the NASA satellite Aqua, and AMSR2 (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2) on the JAXA satellite GCOM-W1. This is the reprocessed data version 5.4 based on AMSR-E or AMSR2 data for the complete period, i.e., • 1 June, 2002 to 4 Oct, 2011 (AMSR-E) • July, 2012 to 17 Nov, 2018 (AMSR2) and daily updated. The reprocessing has been done for the hemispheric maps only. i.e., Arctic/Antarctic (6.25 km grid spacing) and Arctic3125/Antarctic3125 (3.125 km grid spacing).
